Village Trustees Approve Budgets

munseyWith the village elections over, April marked the passage of upcoming budgets for 2014-15. Approval of fire district contracts, employee benefits and carting company contracts were the main piece of the budget. Beautification projects as well as road repair were integral in the discussions.
Here is a brief overview of the budgets passed this week. For more information, contact your village clerk for a copy of the approved budgets.

Village of Flower Hill

Village of Flower Hill trustees unanimously approved the village’s $3.45 million budget for the 2014-15 fiscal year. The budget, first introduced during the board’s March 18 work session, calls for a 6.46 percent rise in spending and a 1.11 percent decrease in its overall tax levy.
The village intends to raise 57 percent of its revenue from $1,444,623 in taxes, collecting the remaining $1,502,105 from county, state and federal grants and from permits and other fees. The village’s tax rate is projected at $33.66.

Village of Munsey Park

Munsey Park trustees approved the proposed Village budget for 2014-15. The current year projection is $1,195,931, and the budget for 2015 is $1,210,859. The tax rate increased 1.48%, and the property tax increased 1.2%. For year 2013, the actual property tax was $1,163,266.
Newly elected village trustee John Lippman was sworn in as was Jennifer Noone who was re-elected.
Village of Plandome Heights

Plandome Heights trustees on Monday $437,000 budget for the upcoming 2014-15 fiscal year. The village’s property tax rate is $43 up from $41.18 during the 2013-14 fiscal year.

Village of Plandome Manor

The Village of Plandome Manor adopted a budget of $815,675 for the 2013-14 fiscal year during its board of trustees meeting, nearly $3,000 more than the $812,875 projected budget drafted March 19. The increase is less than the state mandated 2 percent cap.
Village of Plandome Mayor Barbara Donno, Clinton, and Trustee Irwin Klein were all sworn in for new terms during the meeting. Donno announced that village counsel Peter Colgrove was joining a new law firm and would be stepping down from his position with the village.

Village of Plandome

Village of Plandome trustees introduced a $2.76 million budget for the 2014-15 fiscal year. Plandome will have a $1.54 property tax rate for 2014-15, up from the $1.48 rate in 2013-14.
