Spring has arrived in Manhasset and with it the crucially important annual school budget and board of education vote that will take place on Tuesday, May 20. Developing the annual school budget proposal is a year-round process that involves the Board of Education, district personnel and school leaders. On the third Tuesday of each May, that process culminates when residents are asked to go the polls and vote on the school budget proposal for the following year.
Your participation in this vote is critical to the continued excellence of the Manhasset Public School District, which was recently ranked one of the three highest rated schools on Long Island in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best High Schools 2014” edition. This honor comes on the heels of another national ranking by The Washington Post’s “America’s Most Challenging High Schools” which also included Manhasset in its top 200 school districts in the country.
Some 15,000 registered voters will be eligible to vote for the 2014-201 5 School Budget and we hope to see you all at the Manhasset Secondary School Gym sometime between 6:30am and 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20!
