Letter: Island Trees Support Pat Mahon

My husband and I have had the pleasure of knowing Pat Mahon since the beginning of my career in the Island Trees School District. We were colleagues who taught Physical Education together. We became friends and played on the same softball team. This was a special time because it included many Island Trees graduates whom we’ve taught and coached from the past. It’s amazing how much you learn about a person in school, but even more outside the work environment.

In this age of taking the easy way out or agreeing with the majority, Pat is unwavering and dedicated to doing the right thing even if it is an unpopular view.

This is so refreshing and sets her apart from all others. Pat’s sense of fairness, respect and honesty is undeniable! Her representation on the school board for the past 9 years, making sure the students and districts best interest are upheld, has been a constant positive voice for all.

She is a dedicated Mother and Grandmother yet still takes time to support those in our district by attending many sport activities and events in Island Trees.

Pat has 33 years of experience in education and that is an important skill set to bring to the school board. She has been a constant rock of stability and to not have her there would be a terrible disservice to all who have benefitted by her representation throughout the years.

She is a wonderful woman who possesses dignity and class and we feel so fortunate to have known her all these years as a co-worker, teammate and cherished friend.

Pat is a treasured asset; the Island Trees School District cannot afford to lose.
