Coming from behind in the first half, the Manhasset Indians rallied and overcame Victor by winning 11 to 7 in the final half in the New York State Class B Girls Lacrosse Championships on Saturday, June 7. Manhasset was trailing by five until the Indians began to adjust their strategy. Julia Glynn tied the score at seven all and the Indians went on to make decisive history.
Katherine Hallet scored three goals, Lyndsey Ronbeck and Erin Barry score two goals a piece. Erin Colema, as goalie, made several tremendous saves and stopped Victor players from scoring. Both Coleman and Glynn were named co MVPs of the tournament.
The last time Manhasset girls had won the New York State title was in 2003. Last year they were close, but were knocked out in the semi-finals. Congratulations to the team and its successful season.
