Syosset High School’s ninth-grade Mathletes were named this year’s Nassau County champions. After competing against all other Nassau County ninth-grade teams throughout the year, Syosset claimed first place, beating their closest competitors by six points.
Several students from the school also took top individual titles, including Michael Ye, who won first place; Andrea He, Ben Rhee and Yash Samantaray, who all tied for second place; and Philip Jang, who placed fourth in the county. Other team members included Alexander Chiang, Scott Feltman, Tricia Huang, Peter Hwang, Simran Jagda, Ann Lee, Roy Li, Austin Lin, Natalie Lo, Richie Massimilla, Shivangi Mehta, Eric Pun and Richard Tang.
The district congratulates all students who participated on this achievement.
