The date is set. The planning committee has met. The “Big Bucks” raffle tickets have been mailed to parishioners. St. Anne’s 12th Annual Spirit Day Celebration is happening on Saturday, Sept. 20.
While the summer has just begun, any event planner knows that September will be here before we know it. The St. Anne’s Spirit Day planning committee has been working for over a month updating the colorful event flyer, stuffing and mailing the Big Bucks raffle tickets and securing vendors. At a recent well-attended planning session, committee leaders provided updates on every aspect of the day, from set-up to clean-up and all that falls in-between.
The informal kick-off to Spirit Day planning is the mailing of the Big Bucks tickets to parishioners the week of June 16. The cost of a single raffle ticket is $100 with a maximum of 1000 tickets to be sold. Up to five entrants can be named on a single ticket. This year the funds from the Big Bucks Raffle will allow St. Anne’s to complete payments for the auditorium air conditioning. The grand prize winner receives 25 percent of the total raised and five additional lucky winners receive 5 percent of the total. Last year’s raffle sold out and the winner received $25,000. The five second prize winners received $5,000 each.
The winner does not need to be present to win but no one wants to miss the exciting moment of that drawing at 10 p.m. It’s an incredibly positive way to end a fun and beautiful day for the entire parish family.
The Church of St. Anne in Garden City hosts the 12th annual Spirit Day on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 1-10 p.m. with rides, games and music all day and evening.
