In the upcoming weeks, all residents of the Jericho Fire District will be receiving our Residential Survey.
The Jericho Fire District urges each of you to complete this survey, and return it as soon as possible.
This package contains forms for residents to update their existing emergency information about their home, and family, with the pertinent emergency information that responders will need in the event of an emergency at your home.
The survey will give fire-fighters a significant advantage, with knowledge of important information about your type of structure, location of electrical meter, gas, and much more.
It will also cover emergency contact numbers that could make the difference in searching a call location, if the caller can no longer verbally communicate.
The package will also contain information requests on those who are ill and/or incapacitated, otherwise unable to self exit during a fire.
A set of emergency phone stickers will be found in each envelope in our continued effort to ensure all residents have them on their phones.
The Jericho Fire District reminds all our residents, that your information is for emergency purposes only. It will be held in the strictest of confidentiality, and will never be shared.
It is urgent that all residents comply with this survey, as it will give us vital information.
All instructions are simple to understand, however, if any resident has a question, they should contact District Supervisor John J. O’Brien Sr. at 516-931-3546, ext. 208 Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Your Jericho Fire District Emergency Communication Office operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with some of the most modern technology and well-trained fire service employees.
They will handle nearly 1,000 this year alone.
In the event of an emergency requiring the professional skills of the dedicated men and women of the Jericho Fire Department, time is of the essence.
We urge our residents to call us direct at 516-931-0898.
Wishing all of you a safe summer,
John J. O’Brien Sr., District Supervisor
