North Hempstead Exercise Class

The Town of North Hempstead’s Project Independence will hold a fitness class at 9:45 a.m. in Clinton G. Martin Park in New Hyde Park.

 

Town Zoning Meeting

The Town of North Hempstead Zoning Board will meet at 10 a.m. in Town Hall at 220 Plandome Rd. in Manhasset.

 

Walk Talk

The Town of North Hempstead’s Project Independence will present Walk Talk, at 1 p.m. in the Yes We Can Community Center at 141 Garden St. in Westbury.

 

Saturday, July 19

Beatlemania

Beatlemania will perform at the stadium at Michael J. Tully Park in New Hyde Park at 7:30 p.m. The group has become a fan favorite of the summer concert series as they recreate the sights and sounds of The Beatles and play all of their biggest hits. 

 

Training And Bootcamp Exercise

Class sessions are already underway at Gerry Pond Park and Michael J. Tully Park on Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 10 a.m. Single classes are available at a cost of $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents. Classes can also be purchased in bulk at a discounted rate, 10 classes for residents at the cost of $200 and $240 for non-residents.

 

Personal Training classes will be offered at Michael J. Tully Park by appointment only. There will be two options available. The 50-minute session will cost of $80, and be offered at a discounted rate of 10 sessions for $750. There will also be a 30-minute session available at a cost of $50 and at a discounted rate of 10 sessions for $450. Participants are asked to call within 24 hours to cancel your appointment to avoid being charged.

Renegade Concert

Renegade, a band covering classic and pop music, will play at North Hempstead Beach Park  at 1 p.m. at 175 W Shore Rd. in Port Washington.

 

Monday, July 21

Zumba, Yoga For Teens

 Zumba will be held at 6:30 p.m. and Yoga at 7:30 p.m. on Mondays, July 21 and 28 in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Ave. Stay for both classes if you like. Zumba combines dance and fitness moves set to high-energy international beats. It’s easy to do and fun. Wear comfortable clothing, sneakers and bring water. Bring a yoga mat. Each class is one hour. Tracy DeLucia Concert

Monday Nights at Mary Jane Davies Green will present the Tracy DeLucia Band at 7:30 p.m. at Mary Jane Davies Park on Plandome Road in Manhasset.

Folk Night

Enjoy a folk night in the gardent at Clark Botanic Gardens at 193 I.U. Willets Rd. at 7 p.m. David Sear, followed by Gathering Time, will perform.

 

Wednesday, July 23

15 Below Concert

15 Below, a New Hyde Park alternative rock band, will be playing at the William Gill Theater at the New Hyde Park Village Hall at 1420 Jericho Tpke. at 7 p.m.  Admission is free. 

 

Community Blood Drive

Long Island Blood Services and Great Neck Library Community Blood Drive will be held from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Great Neck Library, Main Building Community Room, 159 Bayview Ave. All donors will receive a pair of tickets to an upcoming NY Mets game (tickets will be mailed). You must be between the ages of 16 and 75 to donate blood (16 years of age need parental consent and 76 or older need a doctor’s note), weigh at least 110 lbs., eat well and have plenty of fluids before donating, and no new tattoos for the past 12 months. Age In Place Successfully

At the Parkville Branch of Great Neck Library, 10 Campbell St. in New Hyde Park on July 25 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Cynthia Roth, managing consultant at the Kornreich Technology Center at the Viscardi Center, will present how residents can change their home to age in place safely. North Hempstead Project Independence invites all Town citizens ages 60 and over. Please call 311 or 869-6311 to register.

 

New Hyde Park Farmers Market

The New Hyde Park Farmers Market has returned. It will be held every Saturday, until Nov. 22, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the municipal parking lot on Jericho Turnpike just west of New Hyde Park Road, across from the Village Hall at 1420 Jericho Tpke. Locals can sample fresh fruits and vegetables from Long Island farms.

 

There are farms from Ronkonkoma, and Rasweiler Farm located in Laurel will be on hand with fruits such as apples, pears, peaches, plums, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and everything apple from cider to donuts and pies. Fresh pasta and over 30 varieties of ravioli will be available from Deer Park’s Bambino’s Raviolis.
