On July 23, Whole Foods in Jericho will host 5% Day to benefit the Long Island Regional Envirothon. Five percent of the day’s net from the Jericho store will be donated.
The store is expecting a huge turnout of supporters for the event including political representatives as well as local media coverage.
Whole foods is anticipating such a large turnout for the event that they and have scheduled the “Large check” presentation ceremony to the Envirothon at their Grand Reopening on Saturday July 26.
The Envirothon is an academic competition for all high school students in both Nassau and Suffolk that focuses on environmental issues such as aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife, agricultural preservation, invasive species, non-point source pollution, wildlife management, wetlands, biodiversity, alternative and renewable energies.
Both the 5% day and check presentation/Grand Reopening will be held at 429 N Broadway, Jericho. Wednesday 5% day will be all day, and the check ceremony will Saturday around 9:30 a.m.
