At the Village of Flower Hill Board meeting on Monday, Aug. 4, the following items were discussed:
Arhaus Furniture: The Board approved the proposed site plan application for Arhaus Furniture located at 15-25 Port Washington Blvd, Roslyn. We look forward to the opening of their high quality home and office retail showroom.
Garage/Tag Sales: After public hearing, Local Law 2 of 2014 was adopted by the Board, amending Chapter A243, waiving garage sale fees for residents.
While residents will no longer be required to pay a fee in order to host a garage sale, a “garage sale license” must be obtained prior to any garage/tag sale. Commercial licenses require $100 permit fee.
PSEG Update: The Mayor reported that PSEG is still committed to removing all of the old utility poles by the end of 2014.
Stonytown Road Walking Path: Mayor Elaine Phillips and the Board of Trustees continue to look into the feasibility of creating a bicycle/walking path along Stonytown Road. Village engineer, Charlie Vachris, will conduct a study and report back to the Board in the next couple of months.
Pavement and Drainage Improvements: Contracts were awarded for the planned pavement and drainage improvements of the areas most in need of repair throughout the Village.
