They’ve only been in operation for two months, but local online food market OurHarvest.com has already been able to donate more than 1,300 meals to food pantries and charities across Long Island. Amongst the recipients is Our Lady of Mercy (OLM) Parish in Hicksville.
The OLM Parish food pantry recently received meals of boneless skinless chicken breasts, bone-in chicken thighs, chicken drumsticks, grass-fed ground beef and London broil. The donated food is the same product offered to customers.
“Being a community partner of OurHarvest has allowed Our Lady of Mercy Parish to become a part of OurHarvest’s mission to make healthy, farm-fresh products available to our local communities, and give back to our neighbors in need,” said Director of OLM Parish Services Mary Anne Scott. “Foods we have rarely been able to offer, such as meat, have now become available thanks to OurHarvest. We are truly grateful for this partnership that continues to assist Our Lady of Mercy Parish, our surrounding community and, most of all, our food pantry.”
“We’re extremely gratified by the support we’ve received across Long Island,” said Scott Reich, co-founder of OurHarvest. “The fast growth of our business has enabled us to make meaningful charitable donations, and we’re very proud to be helping the communities we serve.”
Michael Winik, Reich’s partner in founding OurHarvest, added, “We take pride in ensuring that Long Island families who depend on local charities and food pantries for sustenance receive the food they need. Our model offers a great way for customers to get top-quality, fresh food at competitive prices while giving back to their neighbors at the same time.”
OurHarvest provides consumers with farm-fresh, natural foods at competitive prices while supporting Long Island food-based charities and pantries.
