Have you considered adding running to your exercise regimen but not sure how to get started? Are you concerned about past injuries? Runners, from experienced to beginner, are sidelined every year due to injury. Physical Therapy Options (PTO) wants to help runners get off to a great start this fall and is pleased to offer the community an opportunity to receive a free comprehensive “Running Analysis.”
Physical Therapist Lisa Coors, founder of PTO, views this offering as part of PTO’s mission to help patients live a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
“We see injured runners quite frequently and the best way to prevent injury is to know your limitations and prepare your body,” shared Coors. “There are many individual factors that can affect a runner’s performance. We will review your biomechanics and provide you with the knowledge you need to run safely.”
The community will have an opportunity to take advantage of this complimentary analysis Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 4 at 9 a.m. at PTO’s offices located at 226 7th St. in Garden City.
PTO staff will provide a comprehensive evaluation accompanied by a video of the analysis. The following key factors will be addressed:
Proactive Injury Prevention – Your running mechanics and gait will be analyzed to provide feedback, tips to prevent injuries, help with existing or prior injuries and an assessment of individual weaknesses and strengths. Muscle flexibility and core strength will also be evaluated.
Proper Shoe Wear – Are you wearing the right shoe? Do you need more support? Are your feet flat or high arched? Your needs will be evaluated based on several factors including foot rigidity and flexibility.
Posture Analysis – Proper posture plays a significant role when running. We will assess your running posture, head position along with arm and leg synchronization.
