The Manhasset High School Marching Band and Color Guard, under the direction of Randy Knudsen, Manhasset High School Director of Bands, is excited to announce their 4th Annual Invitational Marching Band Competition, to be held at the Manhasset High School on Sunday Oct. 5, beginning at noon until 2:45 pm. High School bands from Hicksville, Oceanside, Garden City, Roslyn, and Lindenhurst will be joining the MHS Marching Band in a dazzling judged competition of music and marching.
The MHS Marching Band is led by student drum majors Allison Lee (2015), Rose Rutkovsky (2015) and Jeffrey Chin (2016) and their show this year features music from Disney’s Fantasmic. The competition kicks off the marching band season followed by competitions in Bergenfield High School (NJ), the NYS championships at Hofstra University, East Brunswick High School (NJ), and the eastern national championships in Allentown (PA). The MHS Marching Band also regularly performs in the Homecoming Parade each fall and the Memorial Day Parade each spring.
Come see the best Long Island high school marching bands perform elaborate routines in this USBands event. This is an excellent family-oriented opportunity to see musicians perform. Tickets are just $7 for ages 12 and up. Children under 12 are free. Music-related and lunch food concessions will be available at the event.
