5- and 6-year-old Peanuts:
The Peanuts hosted the Uniondale Knights. It was hard fought battle and the Generals gave their all. Terrific performances by JR Hill, Joseph Travaglia and Kody Gehnrich The defense played strong. The Peanuts are working hard and the results are paying off.
7- and 8-year-old Midgets:
The 7- and 8-year-old team did battle with the Floral Park Titans. In a tough battle, the Generals’ offense was powered by a big offensive line led by Declan Trainor, Joseph Gotti, Owen Parlante and Jake Hargrave. In an impressive hurry-up offense, the General’s Jayden Marshall scored a last second touchdown to end the first half.
The defense dug in and prevented the Titans from scoring in the second half. There was excellent tackling by defensive linemen Matthew Duras, Colin O’Toole, Eric Watts and Tyler Granito. Jagger Romano led the defensive secondary with unbelievable tackling. Michael Scores, Cole Meyer, JR Underberg and Michael Dilorenzo kept the Titans out of the end zone. It was a tough loss for the Generals, but this Sunday the Generals will take on the East Rockaway Raiders.
9- and 10-year-old Ponies:
The Generals Ponies (10’s) dominated the Levittown North Pride 27-0 on a very warm Sunday in Centre Island. Led defensively by William Ryan, Giovanni Allocca and Dallas Rodriguez, the Generals pitched a shutout by smothering every Levittown drive. William Ryan highlighted the effort with a defensive trifecta when he crushed a Levittown ball carrier for a loss, caused a fumble and recovered the ball. When Ryan, Allocca and Rodriguez were not creating havoc for Levittown, Charlie Ehni, Christiano Cardillo and Giuseppe Allocca reinforced the impenetrable Generals defensive line with Joey Pothlanski containing on the outside. On the rare occasions Levittown’s offense cracked to the open field, Jackson Lodati, Danny Buffa and the speedy Mitchell Harmantas quickly slammed the door to preserve the shutout.
On offense, the Generals were led by Bryce Kipnes’ two TDs. Kipnes’ first TD was long reception from a Tighe Mullarkey pass. Kipnes then added to his offensive juggernaut totals with a 40-yard QB keeper run down the sideline. The scoring fireworks by the Generals once again started with center James Ryan anchoring an indomitable offensive line with assists from Nick Capozzi, Mike Palagonia, Francis Olivieri and the always versatile Beggs brothers (Dylan and Tommy). The Beggs brothers also supplied the beef as fullbacks for the Generals’ power running attack when the Generals pounded Levittown’s defensive line. Kyle Marshall and Mikey Barbera provided the scoring exclamation points with two TDs and an extra point of their own.
Seniors:
The Baldwin Bombers got bombed by the Generals Senior team, 31-13, as they proved that they are the team to beat. Offensively Aidan Danenza (1-1, seven yards, one TD) led his team to a 18-0 first quarter lead with Daniel Riso (three carries 50 yards, one TD), Carlo Paz (one carry, two yards, one TD reception seven yards) Mathew Jones (one carry, five yards), John Rebuth (three carries, 24 yards, one TD), Mathew Pisciotta (four carries, 20 yards), David Hill (three carries, 12 yards) and Luke Paniagua (seven carries, 51 yards, one TD).
The defense contributed their share by adding four points with two safeties. Great defensive plays kept the Bombers backed up in their own territory for most of the day. Defensively the Generals racked up over 40 great tackles and had two forced fumbles. The defensive charge was led by Luke Shank, Christian Eletto, Jon-Jon Tini, Ed Clark, Sean O’Toole, Vito Rodriguez, John Gangemi, Daniel Grella, Teddy Morfis, Ben Silver, Aidan Carrozza and Elijah Fernandez. The team is certainly looking forward to Liam Doran returning from his injury to help lead the defensive charge. Generals Seniors hosted the Uniondale Knights at the Centre Island Football Complex on Sunday, Sept. 28.
