Everybody knows that the Science Museum of Long Island, located on the grounds of the Leeds Pond Preserve in Plandome Manor has been making science education enjoyable and exciting for elementary and middle-school-aged children. But did you know that SMLI also offers public lectures geared toward young adults right on up to senior citizens?
SMLI’s Fall 2014 Wednesday Nite Lite series, free to the public, will offer programs on subjects as diverse as “How to Grow A Planet,” “Reptiles of Long Island,”, “Paleo Oceans,” and “NYC Audubon Ornithology.”
The next lecture in the series will take place in the Welcome Center at the Museum on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. Dr. Russell Burke of Hofstra University will present a short lecture about Long Island’s reptile life, titled “Diamonds in the Rough,” and will then address questions and comments from the audience.
All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served. Please note that seating is limited, so do call 516-627-9400, extension 10, to reserve your seat(s) today.
