Kids In The Kitchen
This program is for kids 5 and under. The idea is for little ones to mix things up in the kitchen to stir an interest in kitchen creativity and healthy eating. Each week, participants will be making an easy and yummy, kid-friendly snack (cookies, mini pizzas, etc) that the kids make from start to finish. They’ll practice using real cooking tools like small mixers and toaster ovens in their recipes — of course, adult help will be required. Helping in the kitchen is a great learning tool as children practice measuring ingredients, following directions and building their vocabulary. Long Island Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Ave., Garden City. 11:30 a.m.-noon. $3 with museum admission. For more information, please call 516-224-5800 or visit www.licm.org
