Candidate John Cahill (R)
John Cahill is co-founder of the Pataki-Cahill Group and counsel at Chadbourne and Parke. From 2002 through 2006 he served as the Chief of Staff to Governor Pataki, responsible for running all aspects of the state government including coordinating the rebuilding efforts after the attacks of September 11th. Prior to his appointment as Chief of Staff, John served as Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation where he led the State’s efforts to preserve over one million acres of open space. Cahill resides in Yonkers with his wife and children where he enjoys completing Iron Man competitions, triathlons and marathons.
State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (D)
From rooting out public corruption to holding accountable the big banks that wrecked the economy, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has taken on tough fights to protect New Yorkers because he believes there must be one set of rules for everyone, no matter how rich or powerful. Before becoming Attorney General, he was praised as a leading reformer in the State Senate, where he led the effort to reform the Rockefeller drug laws and fought for women’s reproductive choice. Schneiderman previously served as a public interest lawyer, representing tenants trying to evict drug dealers from their buildings, women seeking access to health clinics and others.
