A new movie is being shot in Manhasset called Freeheld based on a true story and 2007 documentary.  The movie has been filming  on Plandome Road yesterday.

The movie cast stars Julianne Moore, Ellen Page, and Steve Carell.

The movie is about a New Jersey car mechanic Stacie Andree (played by Ellen Page) and her police detective girlfriend Laurel Hester (Julianne Moore) both battle to secure Hester’s pension benefits after she was diagnosed with a terminal illness.
