Tickling The Keys

Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School sixth grader Harold Watkin-Fox was recently selected for a special musical honor.

Watkin-Fox was one of 100 students chosen from a pool of applicants from New York State who participated in the “101 Pianists” event held on Oct. 26.

Watkin-Fox had the opportunity to take a master class with internationally renowned concert pianist Lang Lang, where he enjoyed first-hand experience playing beside a professional pianist. After the class, Watkin-Fox performed “Marche Militaire No. 1” and Mozart’s “Rondo all Turca” with fellow recipients for a concert at the Tilles Center.

The Lang Lang Foundation is a prestigious organization that aims to inspire and motivate the next generation of classical music lovers and performers, and to encourage music performance at all levels as a means of social development for youth, building self-confidence and a drive for excellence.

Congratulations Harold!
