Passion For Painting As A Theme
A group art show called Fellow Painters will be exhibited in the Garden City Public Library gallery and showcases through Dec. 29. There will be a variety of topics and styles created by local talent to see and enjoy. The exhibiting artists met through classes at a local lifelong learning community college and have painted together for more than five years. Some have sold their works; one is interested in art therapy; another is an advanced art student. The rest just love what they do. With different backgrounds and training, a passion for painting brought them together. It continues to unite them in a dedication to fostering artistic goals, and nurturing growing friendships. The exhibit affirms the appreciation of each other’s diverse talents and painting styles within this family of art student/friends. Having created a place where constructive criticism, ideas and suggestions are warmly given and accepted, now is the appropriate time to reveal their works to a wider audience. They invite the community to share their enthusiasm and love of visual art and hope viewing these works will bring a measure of the same joy they experienced in creating them. Exhibits are free and open to the public during regular library hours at 60 Seventh St. in Garden City. Installation and removal dates are subject to change. For hours and directions, please call 516-742-8405 or visit www.gardencitypl.org. Exhibit funding is sponsored by Friends of the Garden City Public Library.
