The Garden City West End Christmas Tree Lighting, sponsored by the Western Property Owners Association, takes place on Friday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. in the small park on Plattsdale Road, near Gallery Pizza. The event will include singing and dancing courtesy of Broadway Bound; carols and other musical favorites by Gabriella Pulice, the daughter of Ernie, the owner of Gallery Pizza, and Alessandra Manino; hot chocolate courtesy of Honestly Delicious; and goodies bags filled with valuable coupons and holiday treats for kids and parents. Hopes are high for an appearance by Santa Claus at 7 p.m. It’s a great chance to meet your neighbors and say hello to the local merchants at the New Hyde Park Road shopping district. All are welcome.
