What: Shelter Rock Forum presents: Imam Feisal on the Fight Against ISIS and Extremists
Who: Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf served as the imam of Masjid al-Farah in New York City for 30 years. He has long demonstrated a commitment to bringing American Muslim and non-Muslims together and in 1997 he formed the American Society for Muslim Advancement. Imam Feisal is the author of many published books, most recently Moving the Mountain: A New Vision of Islam in America. Imam Feisal has been the recipient of several awards including being ranked among the “100 Most Influential People of the World” by Time Magazine, “Top 100 Global Thinkers” by Foreign Policy, and “Top 50 Arabs” by the Middle East Magazine.

About: Imam Feisal will lead a discussion on why ISIS is un-Islamic, how to combat ISIS and how Islam should be used to counter extremism, not promote it.
