Levittown Mom Gets ‘Bizzy’

You know what they say, necessity is the mother of invention. And that’s just what Levittown mom, Jessica Castelli did when she realized that she was wasting time trying to find things to do instead of just going and doing them.

“While working full-time when my oldest daughter was a toddler, I struggled to find things to do with her outside of the house after work. I knew there was a ton of stuff to do on

Long Island, but I felt like I never had the time nor the energy to organize all of the various resources,” she explained.

Then one day while picking through the seemingly endless resources to find things to do, Castelli asked herself why there wasn’t an app where you could simply type in a zip code and see what was going on in the area. When she couldn’t find such an app, she went about securing the resources to make one and that’s when BizzyDoo.com was born.

Designed as a clean, modern interface that looks and functions responsively, BizzyDoo allows users a place to search for and post activities,  which is a timesaver for both parents

looking for fun events closeby, and local businesses looking for some exposure. Users who create accounts—which is optional and free—can save their preferred zip code for searching and also save their favorite activities for easy reference.

In addition, Castelli screens every business that signs up before it can post anything, so parents know they can trust the content that is posted. Parents can access Bizzydoo from their phones, tablets or computers to search for things to do with their kids by zip code, theme, day of the week, start time, age range and cost.

And the response from the community, said Castelli, has been a driving factor in her decision to keep moving forward, despite having a demanding schedule herself.

“The response so far has been very positive! Parents love the ease of the site and businesses love the free exposure,” she said.

Officially off the ground since August 2014, the website now has 27 businesses that are posting consistently and more than 1,500 monthly page views and Castelli is getting ready to ramp up for more action in the coming months.

“My ultimate goal is to make it much easier for parents to find things to do with their kids, with the hope that more kids will get out of their houses to explore and experience the world,” she explained. “I want Bizzydoo to be the go-to solution for parents looking for things to do with their kids.”
