On Jan. 11, stop by the Farmingdale Public Library, at 2 p.m., when the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society will look back at past holiday celebrations.

Whether it be from old-time Farmingdale or just favorite personal memories; if you have any vintage decorations, photos you would like to share or a fondly-remembered family holiday, the historical society invites you to discuss them. These historic happenings are part of Farmingdale’s rich history, where the Great Depression required some imagination to make the holidays enjoyable, while times of war had family members sent away from home. The event is free and open to the public. For more information visit fbhsli.org.
