Chabad-11615EContinuing on both Jan. 28 and Feb. 11, The Chabad of Roslyn Friendship Circle will operate its second cycle of the Cooking Circle program. All three events will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Friendship Circle Center.

“Our past cycle of three programs was a warm success, new families and teens keep calling to join,” said Rabbi Yaakov Wilansky.

The Cooking Circle is a biweekly respite program on Wednesday evenings where children with special needs and loving volunteers come together for a fun, educational and cooking experience.

Chabad_11615BThe past Cooking Circle programs included pizza making with recipe book designing, Pumpkin Cranberry muffins and apron decorating for Thanksgiving and Latke frying for Hanukkah.

“This program is designed to teach children many important skills from gross motor cognitive skills to communication and language,” Wilansky said. “Each child is assigned to their own one-on-one volunteer who will assisted them and remain with them throughout the program.”
The following are the dates and subjects of this year’s Cooking Circle cycle:

• Wednesday, Jan. 28, Edible Creations.
• Wednesday, Feb. 11, Sushi Fun.Chabad_11615D
