Roslyn High School senior Sahil Anand has been named a News 12 Scholar Athlete and was featured on the air during a recent program.
In athletics, Sahil’s passion for running has led him to being All-Conference in Cross Country three years in a row. Academically, Sahil is an outstanding student who has taken one of the more rigorous science sequences available to a student in Roslyn.
In 2014, he sat for a competitive exam administered by the American Chemical society and advanced to the national level. He is also in Roslyn’s research honors math program, took Precalculus at a local college in the summer concluding tenth grade in order to advance to Advanced Placement Calculus BC in his junior year and culminated his four years with our highest level math class in his senior year.
Sahil is also president of the Office of Class Councils (OCC), the student government, and is the student representative to the Board of Education. Sahil is only the second Roslyn student in the last decade to be chosen for this recognition.
