The 2015 Early Bird Registration for the Nickerson Beach campground will take place on Saturday, February 21st at 9 a.m. The registration process is conducted as a lottery. 
The Lottery Process will be as follows:
- Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. Each patron will get one lottery card to fill out. Only one entry per household.
- Fill out the lottery card with your name and valid Leisure pass number. The lottery cards are to be placed in the lottery box after they are filled out.
- The cards will only be accepted on the day of early-bird registration.
- The reservation process will begin and each lottery card will be drawn to determine the order in which reservations will be taken.
- When your name is called you will then be able to make a maximum of two campground reservations for yourself only.
All reservations must be made in person. No phone reservations will be accepted on that day. All other reservations can be made in person or by phone when the office opens. Leisure passes must be obtained by Nassau County residents before filling out the lottery card. Nassau County residents can obtain a Leisure Pass in the main office or any other leisure Pass location.
