Cops are looking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in a robbery and assault at a Woodbury Stop & Shop last year.
According to authorities, the suspect entered the Stop & Shop on Jericho Turnpike just after noon on Dec. 7. While in the store, the suspect placed several oral hygiene products into a bag and attempted to exit the store without paying. When store security tried to intervene, the suspect became violent and punched the security officer several times in the chest and shoulders, cops said. The suspect dropped the stolen items and fled in a gray-colored Nissan traveling westbound on Jericho Turnpike.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 40s, standing at 6’1″ and weighing 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark coat and blue jeans. Crime Stoppers is asking anyone who can identify the subject, or with any information about this crime, to call 1-800-244-8477.
