Four athletes from the Saint Mary’s High School Class of 2015, including one from Mineola, made their commitments to play women’s basketball in college next season.

Charlotte Renker of Mineola will attend Assumption College, Jordan Agustus from the Bronx will attend St. John’s University, Mei-Lyn Bautista of Whitestone will attend George Washington University and McKayla Hernandez of Glen Cove will attend Binghamton University. As their families and teammates looked on proudly from the girls’ basketball team’s home court in Immaculata Hall gym, all four young women thanked their parents and coaches for their support and encouragement over the years.

“Saint Mary’s has been great academically and athletically,” said Renker in her speech, acknowledging the school community that helped her and her teammates flourish both on and off the court. “I also want to thank Coach (Tom) Flynn and the Saint Mary’s administration for the opportunity they gave me at a great high school.”

In 2013, the St. Mary’s High School Girls’ Varsity Basketball team went 14-0 for the season under the leadership of Coach Tom Flynn. Then in 2014, the Lady Gaels were 13-1 and claimed the Nassau Suffolk Catholic High School Girls Athletic Association title. Agustus was named game MVP.
