Nominating petitions for the Mineola School District Board of Education may be picked up during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the district clerk’s office or the superintendent’s office at the Willis Avenue School at 121 Jackson Ave. in Mineola. These petitions are required in order for a candidate’s name to appear on the voting machine ballot.
Please note that this year, a petition must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters ( a resident of the district qualified to vote, not necessarily registered). In addition, each petition must include the full name and residence of the candidate on each page before a qualified voter signs the petition.
Candidates for office of the board of education run at large (the candidates receiving the most votes win). The terms of office begin July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2018. Artie Barnett and. Christine Napolitano’s terms of office will expire June 30, 2015.
