An artisan market will be held at the Farmingdale Village Green, at 361 Main St., beginning Saturday, May 9. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., every Saturday, weather permitting.
Local artisans and small businesses will be present, offering a variety of locally handmade wares. Organizer and JGA Creations owner Jennifer Avallone, who manages the Market at the Milleridge Village from May through November 2015, is pleased to have the opportunity to host another event featuring Long Island crafters and small businesses. Various vendors each week will be offering handmade goods, available for shoppers’ consideration.
“Our event is different because we cater to handmade vendors with some direct sales companies mixed in. Since it’s a weekly event you will see different vendors each week and some of your favorites as well. Last year we started it at the end of August and decided this year to run the entire season,” said Avallone.
The artisan market has free admission, so shoppers are welcome to come and spend an hour or the day perusing high quality, unique handmade items and gifts created by Long Island businesspeople and artisans. Some weeks the market will also feature live music. Vendors are still wanted. For vendor information, contact Avallone at jgacreations@yahoo.com.
