As a division head in the private school system, I am all too familiar with the qualities needed for leadership in the field of education. Those leaders in our field who have vision and lead with mindfulness, with a passion and with the understanding that listening is key to making great decisions are those who are respected and those who in the end make change not haphazardly but for a purpose.
Joy Renner is this kind of leader. A professional who will make us question why we do the things we do as well as why we do them the way we do. She will bring a new perspective to our Mineola School Board which will open up opportunities for self-reflection which are needed for this Board to be effective in continuing to provide a challenging and vibrant program for our children, the future paradigm shifters.
I believe that Joy Renner will insist on real discussions in order to make sound decisions. She will foster an atmosphere of team work and set aside her personal interests for the good of the community. She will lead the Board in building trust by encouraging transparent communication.
Joy Renner is a decision-maker and a visionary. A vote for Joy Renner is a vote for a positive direction within the Mineola School District. Change can be difficult to embrace but once you do, the possibilities are endless.
