Congratulations to Ken Colantuoni of Plainview, Lorie Sheinwald and Ashish Batra of Old Bethpage and Christopher Kuster of Bethpage who successfully completed the 13th annual Long Island Greenbelt Trail 25 Kilometer Run on Saturday, May 9.
Ken Colantuoni finished in 2 hours, 29 minutes and 33 seconds, scoring in 20th place overall.
Lorie Sheinwald scored in 2 hours 49 minutes and 15 seconds, good for 38th place overall. She also deserves a special “purple heart” award. Sheinwald wasn’t the only runner to finish a bit bloodied, but she was the only finisher that we know of who required stitches.
Christopher Kuster earned 43rd place overall with a finishing time of 2 hours, 56 minutes and 19 seconds.
Ashish Batra was the 115th finisher overall with a time of 4 hours, 16 minutes and 3 seconds.
The run started and finished at the office/clubhouse of the Greater Long Island Running Club near the Sunnyside Boulevard trail head, with the runners proceeding north on the trail to the Cold Spring Harbor Marina, and then back again to Sunnyside Boulevard and the GLIRC facility.
