Roslyn Man Dies In Fall

Last Friday, a Roslyn man died at his home in an apparent fall from the roof on his residence on Shepherd Lane.

The Third Squad has reported the details of the fatal aided that occurred in Roslyn Heights on Friday, June 12, at 9:30 pm.

According to detectives, Elliot Wertheim, 66, of Roslyn Heights did suffer a fall after he was working on the roof of his Shepherd Lane residence. A family member, detectives said, discovered the victim and called 911 after he was found lying face down on his patio and not breathing. Third Precinct police officers responded and performed CPR on the victim. The officers then had him transported to a local hospital in a Nassau County Police Ambulance so he could be treated for severe head trauma. The victim was pronounced deceased by a staff physician at 10:17 p.m. There is no apparent criminality at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
