Congratulations to Hicksville athletes Robert Montgomery, Thomas Kiernan, Andrew Roche and Gregory De La Fuente, each of whom successfully completed the 24th annual David Lerner Police Appreciation Run 5 Kilometer, recently held at Eisenhower Park.
Montgomery led the Hicksville contingent with a time of 32 minutes, 1 second, Kiernan scored in 34 minutes, 20 seconds, Roche finished in 37 minutes, 10 seconds and De La Fuente crossed the finish line in 42 minutes, 30 seconds.
The run, which is sponsored by David Lerner Associates and managed by the Greater Long Island Running Club, helps raise funds to support law enforcement officers and their families in times of personal emergency. Over the 24 years of existence, over $300,000 has been donated to police families out of the proceeds of this event.
