A teenager was killed when she crashed her car into a truck in her hometown of West Islip early Tuesday morning.

Suffolk County police said 19-year-old Julia Schweers was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on Higbie Lane when her car hit a Mitsubishi box truck that was turning left turn onto Union Boulevard at 5:55 a.m.

The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead.

The truck driver, a 45-year-old New Jersey man, was not injured.

Third Squad detectives impounded both vehicles, are continuing the investigating and ask anyone with information on this crash to call them at 631-854-8352.
