Regarding your August 12-18th article, “Capital Improvements Are Well Under Way”, as a long time resident of Manhasset, I enjoyed playing tennis on the clay courts at Memorial Field for many years, was disappointed to see them allowed to fall into such a state of disrepair by the school district and even more saddened to learn they are going to be paved over as hard courts. Speaking for many long time resident tennis players, I don’t think the word “improvements” is fitting in the title of the article in regard to the changes at the tennis courts. This appears to be a case of trying to move forward, by taking two steps backward.
