Get ready to scintillate your taste buds with some Latin flavor. Puerto Rico Meets NYC is a food and travel fusion event created by writer, traveler and world-class foodie Marie Elena Martinez. The event runs from Wednesday, Sept. 30, to Sunday, Oct. 4, and encompasses a series of multi-day, multi-format events that celebrate the bounty and beauty of Puerto Rico’s culinary legacy. By shedding light on this Caribbean island’s best chefs, the rums and the accompanying food and travel intersection, Puerto Rico Meets NYC will give this sunny destination the epicurean respect and exposure it deserves.
Puerto Rico Meets NYC is the second global destination to be featured under the Meets NYC brand, which began with Baja Meets NYC in 2014.
In addition to highlighting the talent coming from Puerto Rico, the event also aims to highlight the Nuyorican connection to Manhattan by including a host of incredible local culinary talent who are opening their New York restaurants to
the visiting Puerto Rican chefs, some of whom include Xavier Pacheco, Camille Becerra, Pedro Alvarez, J.J. Johnson, Mario Pagan and several others.
