The Earth will line up directly with the sun and moon. A rare occurrance, there have only been 5 supermoon have occurred since 1900 (in 1910, 1928, 1946, 1964 and 1982). After Sunday, the next supermoon eclipse will occur in 2033.
This eclipse also happens to coincide with the harvest moon, the full moon
