Sam Adler, like many other Roslyn area youngsters, is working on a Mitzvah project. For Adler, the cause is breast cancer awareness and the means to achieve that is through bracelet sales. Adler is written an open letter to the Roslyn public, which is reprinted here.
“For my Mitzvah project I am selling stylish bracelets to raise money for breast cancer,” Adler wrote. “My Bat Mitzvah is in the month of October, which happens to be Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My mom had breast cancer nine years ago and that has impacted me and my family a lot. This is an important cause that affects us all. Did you know that 1 in 8 women are diagnosed today? The money for these beautiful bracelets will go to the Susan G. Komen charity, which I think is very special and important. The bracelet is titled “Hearts & Soles” and features Rose Quartz gemstones, which provide unconditional love, infinite peace and deep inner healing. There are Swarovski crystals which represents my mom’s sparkle for life and for anyone else who embodies that. The bracelets are $50, where a portion will go the Susan G. Komen charity. If you only want to contribute a smaller amount, feel free to contribute whatever you feel comfortable.
