Troop 1176 Goes Sailing

Girl Scout Troop No. 1176 went on a marine sailing trip with The Waterfront Center in Oyster Bay recently. The girls were introduced to local marine life and learned about clams, mussels, crabs and other shellfish that are living in the waters off Long Island.

The girls also learned about Christeen, the rigged sloop built in 1883 to harvest oysters in Oyster Bay that the scouts sailed on.
