Jim Dawson, the original songman, is coming to Manhasset to do a Benefit Concert for his friend of 35 years Craig Anderson. Original introduction was at my Father’s Place in Roslyn where Anderson was so moved by Dawson’s music that he decided to follow his concerts thereafter. Eighteen years ago, Anderson received a heart transplant and requested to have Dawson’s music played in the operating room.
This famous folk singer and song writer will be performing at the Church of Our Saviour, Lutheran, 1901 Northern Boulevard, and Manhasset on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 4 p.m.
Hot and cold appetizers, dessert, coffee and tea will be served. On the billboard will be a silent cake auction and a 50/50 raffle drawing. Suggested donation is $25 for adults and $10 for under 12.
