A 12-year-old girl died a day after she was shot while she was inside her Hempstead home on Friday evening, Nassau County police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call at a Dartmouth Street home, where they found the victim, Dejah Joyner, suffering from a gunshot wound at 5 p.m., police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she is listed in grave condition. She died Saturday.

Homicide Squad detectives determined that a single gunshot was fired from the street and struck the child while she was in her living room, police said.

Police are offering a $75,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
