Edward Ambrosino (R)
Edward Ambrosino is the Town of Hempstead Councilman of the 2nd District, incumbent.
Eddie Ambrosino has represented the people of the 2nd District since his first election in 2003. The councilman is a proponent of business and smart development and was instrumental in the effort to tear down the Courtesy Hotel in West Hempstead.
A proud father of three children, Ambrosino volunteers his time as a trustee for the American Red Cross and Nassau County Medical Center Foundation; a former trustee for the YMCA and for Briarcliffe College, a founding member of the Wyngate Drive West Block Party committee, former co-chair of the Elmont Redevelopment Coalition, a Knight of Columbus, a Kiwanian, an Elk, and the PDK Society of Adelphi University.
Ambrosino is a practicing attorney and is of counsel to Ruskin Moscou Faltisheck, P.C. in Uniondale. He is a recognized authority on Economic Development and IDA Financings and taught a course he developed, ”Leveraging the Public/Private Partnership” at New York Law School. He is currently teaching business law at Nassau Community College.

Tammie Williams (D)
Tammie Williams is seeking a Council seat on the Town of Hempstead Board in order to advocate for the community. She wants to open up town government and save money for residents in the process. To do that she will create a transparent bidding process for town contracts to ensure taxpayers pay a fair price and every business has a fair chance to participate. She also will make sure town jobs are open to all residents and that hiring is based on merit. And she will ban political mailings sent at taxpayer expense.
Finally, Williams will be a strong advocate for programs that serve families and children.
Williams is mom to son C.J., who has special needs. She has spearheaded community-based programs to meet the needs of children with special needs and their families in Elmont where so few programs for similarly situated families and children exist.
Williams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in community and human services from SUNY Empire State College, and a Master’s degree in social work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She is a mother, social worker, director of the Girls P.R.I.D.E. Project, and serves on the board at the Elmont Public Library.
