Wunderbar! At Nassau County Museum of Art

Wunderbar_110415AOn Saturday, Nov. 7, at 3 p.m., at the Nassau County Museum of Art (NCMA),

actress and television personality Shirley Romaine will present “Wunderbar! Star Painters: An Insider’s View.”

The program will explore the art of the Austrian and German Expressionist painters and the people, places and politics that inspired them. Serge Sebarsky, to whom the Neue Gallery in New York is dedicated brought major works by Klimt, Schiele, Kokoschka, Kandinsky, Klee and others to Long Island when he became the director of the Nassau County Museum of Art in 1989. The exhibitions brought art lovers and collectors from around the country to the museum.

The program is based on exclusive interviews with Sebarsky by Romaine from her Cablevision program “Artscene on Long Island.” She will provide background on Sebarsky to augment the interviews that include paintings by the artists on display.

For information and reservations, call 516-484-9338 or log on to nassaumuseum.org. Admission is $5 for museum members, $15 for nonmembers and includes museum admission. The NCMA is located at 1 Museum Drive in Roslyn Harbor.
