Each Friday, first-graders in Christine O’Grady’s class at Hampton Street School in participate in Fun Friday Math Modules.
An hour each day is dedicated to the math modules and O’Grady has designated Friday as a day where each of the week’s concepts are combined into fun mathematic games. In a recent Fun Friday, students bowled for numbers, played ‘gobble bump’ with dice, and completed website games on the interactive whiteboard as a means to reinforce that week’s concept of putting numbers together to make groups of 10.
