The Massapequa Girls Varsity Gymnastics Team, coached by Mike Capone, Lisa Ranneklev and Kim Seckler took home the Nassau C
ounty Team Championship on Feb. 12, at Plainview Middle School scoring a 166.925. This was the eighth county win for Capone over his 40 year career coaching Massapequa girls gymnastics and the first county title since 1998 for the gymnasts. They’ve worked hard all year and the win is well deserved.
Team members include: seniors Julianne Smith, Ally Wick and Sarah Woods; juniors Natalie Murphy, Elizabeth Murphy and Kristina Shaw; sophomores Emily Corso, Gillian Murphy, Julianna Cowan and Alexa LoPiano; freshmen Heidi Baldinger, Gabby Bacotti and Tayla Quinn and eighth graders Alyssa Ragno, Jenna Plant and Jenny Mullan.
