Jacqueline Roberta Loze (aka Jackie) was born March 6, 1944. She was the daughter of Arthur and Alice Loze. She departed this earth on February 16, 2016. She graduated from Paul D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington in 1963. She was the manager of the softball team and played shortstop. She loved the sport and was very good at it.
She became a member of Mount Olive Church in 1983 and was baptized by Rev. Oscar Walker. She was a member of The Ways and Means Culinary Committee, a member of the Senior Usher Board, where she was the Chaplin and president of the organization. She was also a member of the Senior Citizen Center of Port Washington, where president of the Senior Center, Delores Holiday, awarded her with the ROC Volunteering Certificate for her volunteer work. Jackie also received citation awards from the Nassau County Comptroller and Legislature and from the Town of North Hempstead for her work with the community.
Jackie leaves behind to mourn her two brothers, Keith Loze and Alan Loze; sister-in-law Maxine Loze; three nieces, Shadonna Loze, Cynthia Gardner and Theresa Streeter; five great-nephews; two godsons, James Harmon and Earl Douglas; Uncle Sylvester Durrant; her best friend through school, Grace Bellome, and a host of relatives and friends.
