Mineola High School senior Sanskriti Bimal has been selected by the South Asian American Women’s Alliance as the first-place award winner in the alliance’s essay contest. She was chosen for the award based upon her essay titled “Impact of Social Media on Cultural Diversity” and will be awarded a plaque and $500 prize at the SAAWA’s annual gala in June. —Submitted by the Mineola School District
