North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth spent April 18 at Salem Elementary School where she read The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry, a story that explains the importance of trees and rain forest conservation. This was part of the school’s Read Across America program and the Town’s month-long Earth Day effort to educate children about the importance of preserving the environment.
